Administrator, E-consultancy, Farringdon, London.  July 2007 -  April 2008

Previous Work Experience

After choosing to opt out of higher education, I decided to seek employment at McDonalds in High Barnet. Throughout the duration of my stay I was able to receive a promotion, from working in the dive focused area of the restaurant, to being able to run the kitchen with the help of another member when need be. I worked on the night shift for a large section of my employment, which came with its own particular set of advantages and disadvantages.

Kitchen Assistant, The Black Lion, Hammersmith, London.         May 2008 - Sept 2009

Kitchen Assistant. The Black Lion, Hammersmith, London.         May 2008 - Sept 2009

Over the course of this period, I worked at The Black Lion in between University studies. My tasks included assisting the Head Chef in preparing a variety of dishes for this busy Gastro Pub.  One of the most interesting aspects was the changing menu in response to the availability of fresh ingredients (such as fresh fish from a catch). In addition to preparing food, I was also responsible for maintaining a clean and hygienic environment and was trained in operating a busy restaurant kitchen.

Crew Member, McDonalds, High Barnet, London. Jan 2012 - July 2016

I worked at E-consultancy, a leading digital marketing company on a temporary contract which they extended several times.  My work varied from database cleansing to assisting in the organisation of events including supplier showcases and training seminars. During my time at E-consultancy I became familiar with the CRM system Salesforce and also the back end management of a complex website. I worked with a number of clients including Barracuda - Digital, Big Mouth Media and Double Click.

Assistant, Silverpop, Islington, London. July - August 2006

I was a temporary employee at Silverpop, an email marketing company based in London. My work involved database cleansing and developing email communications. I used MS Access, Excel and Word as well as Silverpop’s proprietary email marketing tool, Marketer on which I developed a number of emails. Clients I worked on included BSkyB and Opodo.

Volunteer, Homeless Shelter, Stoke Newington. Jan – March 2006

During my time at the shelter I was responsible for meal preparation and shelter cleanliness. I spent some time getting to know some of the residents, providing emotional support and someone to talk to.  The experience was very rewarding and humbling. One of the most moving aspects was the fact that there were a lot of young people at the shelter who were intelligent but often through no fault of their own had deprived backgrounds and few opportunities.
